This week I am sharing some of my favorite posts as an offering to the sweet, Mother’s Morning Out ladies of my home church in Charlotte, NC. These women inspire me with their hunger for Jesus, their commitment to love their families God’s way and their servant-hearts that reach out for others. These ladies? They give me great hope for the generations to come and they make my heart sing!
You Are More Than Enough
JOHN 6:12 (HCSB)
Have you ever felt like a left-over? I have. I’ve looked at that plate that holds the remains; the scraps of what has filled the bellies of those I love and I think, “That’s me.”
I am the crust of something greater and many have taken the best of what I offer: my time, my energy, my spirit.
Jesus reminds me of when He fed the multitudes, too. They were hungry.
He takes the five small loaves, He blesses them and He feeds. He feeds out of His bounty until they are filled up and want for nothing more. God Himself looks at the remains; the pieces that are discarded and He says, “Gather them up.”
In God’s economy nothing is squandered and everything has high value.
Remnants are the ones blessed by God to give over and beyond what is needed.
chosen by grace,
to feed the hungry.
They will not be destroyed, they will be saved. They are more than enough because He is more than enough.
And when we feel like we are the small of something Greater, it’s because we are.
He gathers the weary-dry and He breathes God-flavor back into them.
He makes us manna.
I am thinking of you, the woman who is exhausted and spent from feeding the ones that are hungry. I am praying for you, the one who gives her best so others will see Him and I am asking God to reach down from heaven, gather you up, and tell you, “You are part of something greater and you are more than enough because I Am more than enough.”
I am seeking Jesus on your behalf, because you know what happened when Jesus multiplied that barley and fed those 5,000? He was beheld for who He is; the Savior of the world.
I pray you Live Like You Know… where you are going.
Strength to strength,
