~ One Woman at a Time ~
What are you thinking about today?
Are you mulling over the day-to-day tasks that seem too big for the time you’ve been given? Are you thinking about petty words that have wounded you and do you suspect unkind motives from others? Or, are you wondering about situations that could happen and thoughts others could be thinking?
Maybe you aren’t thinking about any of these, but you are thinking about something and I am wondering if what runs on that hamster wheel of the mind is even true.
Sadly, my tendency can be to take one small circumstance and extrapolate it out into something much bigger in my mind. That thought-pebble hits the water and the ripple effect grows. I have often gone in a thought direction so far removed from where I started, that it doesn’t resemble the beginning at all.
Jesus wants us to think on something else today. He wants us to think on His thoughts of US.
He wants us to remember this:
You are loved
You are treasured
You are not alone
When your mind makes accusations against someone, say to yourself, “Jesus loves me.” (He loves them, too)
When you feel overlooked, whisper, “Jesus treasures me.”
When you feel like no one cares, really cares, close your eyes, and see Jesus with you. Say out loud, “You are here.”
Taming thoughts is a difficult task that requires much discipline but if we can master just these three, we have gained much ground. Starting here, is a good place.
My friend, relax your mind and rest your thoughts. Breathe deep and know that in all things, you, (your name here) , are God’s priority. The other day-to-day stuff? Well, it’ll work itself out. Your thoughts are invaluable – save them for the Truths of what Jesus thinks about you.
You will find peace, strength and rest will settle your mind.
If you are in need of a friend, or someone to just say, “I understand. I know.” would you consider joining my Online Facebook Group, One Woman at a Time? I would love to encourage you, there.
What is swirling around in your mind today?
Tell yourself the above, three Truths. Do they help settle your thoughts?
Jesus, Help me to tame my mind to the reality of Your thoughts for me. So many things happen in my day and I can easily think on things that are false. Help me to remember, and think on, the Truths of Your Word; You love me, You treasure me, and You are with me. Amen.
