Prepare the way of the Lord in the wilderness;
make a straight highway for our God in the desert. Isaiah 40:3 (HCSB)
This morning, I was on my knees for you; the one who has her heart set on God and what He has purposed. If you are like me, you wonder about the plans of God and what lies ahead.
You’ve raised those children that you love and, well, they are moving forward in the preparations you’ve made; the one of laying the foundation of love and hope and God-promises.
And what is God’s plan for you now?
It is the same.
Jesus tells us we are to always be preparing the Way of the Lord – just as we’ve been doing for so many years of our past. We may not know the details of what our future looks like, or how God will specifically use our hands, but the method and the goal are the same.
And how do we make a way for God? We repeat what we already know.
We ready the path by
Planting the seed.
We help others to take her eyes off self, and turn them toward Jesus. We use the Savior-experiences of our past and we give them away, the Way, right where we are. And when we give these seeds away, she is not only prepared to receive Him in the future, she is prepared to receive Him now.
And what happens when you lean-in to the sparrow that is never forgotten, never alone, and never unseen? When you give her a Word of encouragement? She understands God is with her and the Hope of Heaven speaks to her dry heart and tiresome circumstance with love and kindness and grace and mercy.
So I gently ask, “How can you continue the great purpose that you already know so well?”
God had strategically orchestrated this day for preparation. Wherever you find yourself you have been given the ability, and the skill, to make God’s path straight. You have been qualified through immeasurable experience and tenure in Kingdom work and God wants you to walk with assurance in the purpose of making hearts ready for Him.
Jesus, help us to see that You have given us all we need, through years of experience, to prepare Your way. Let us go in confidence to the souls You’ve orchestrated to our lives today, and let us give them a Word of encouragement so they may receive Your hope. It’s in the Name of Jesus I ask. Amen.
How have you prepared the Way of the Lord for the ones in your own family?
Do you believe this gives you great experience to prepare the in another woman’s heart?
