We are constantly surrounded by the day-to-day pressures of family, finances, personal struggle and the problems of the world. The everyday issues distract us from focusing on our Savior and what He accomplished on the cross. Before we know it, we are preoccupied with a whirlwind of problems and our joy is lost without us ever realizing how it happened.
The joy that God wants to restore? It is the joy of being forgiven.
Forgiven-joy is the wonder of grace and mercy that are unearned and undeserved. It is an amazement of the Holy Spirit deposited in you the instant you believed on Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. It is the awe of communion and fellowship with God himself. It is the shield that becomes your saving help and the hand that sustains and makes you great. (Psalm 18:35)
It is the promise of eternal life; the ultimate restoration to full well-being.
When we remember the sin-pardon that’s been given, it cannot help but cause our hearts to be “re-set” in purpose and perspective.
Your salvation story is the fulfillment of the ultimate plan and when this joy is restored, you are unable to respond with anything less than humility and gratefulness.
My mouth will tell of your righteous deeds, of your saving acts all day long—
though I know not how to relate them all. Psalm 71:15 (NIV)
Our heart’s desire automatically becomes passionate for others who need salvation-joy, too. Though we could speak of God’s saving love all day long, we will never be able to measure the eternal worth of His free gift to us.
I am reminding myself to think on my salvation experience so I can make an impact for God’s glory. I am keeping my focus on the salvation that delivers the hope and promise of eternal life. Together, let’s take in and let’s give away the depths of God’s love.
Prayer for Today:
If you are in need of the joy of salvation, would you pray this prayer?
_ Dear God, I admit that I am a sinner and need Your forgiveness; I believe that Jesus Christ died in my place, paying the penalty for my sins. I am willing right now to turn from my sins and accept Jesus Christ as my personal Lord and Savior. I commit myself to You and ask You to send the Holy Spirit into my life, to fill me and take control and to help me become the person You want me to be. Thank You Father for loving me. In Jesus’ power I pray.
And If you are in need of restored salvation-joy –
_ Jesus, restore to me the joy of my salvation. Cause me to keep my heart and mind focused on my soul redeemed. Sustain me in Your freedom so I can proclaim Your mighty deeds._
Make a record of your salvation experience.
What were your circumstances and what were your needs?
What brought you to the place of recognizing your need for Him?
What relief and blessing did you receive when God rushed to your soul?
How can you share this joy with someone else?
Strength to strength,
