I had poured my life into my family. The children were moving forward, the husband was thriving in his career and I felt left behind with no skills or qualifications. It didn’t seem fair that it could all possibly end with the wicked disease of cancer.
The ugly lie that settled in my heart was, “The woman who gives up everything, ends up with nothing.”
In these verses the Israelites are making a required journey to Mount Zion; the place where God dwelled. It was here that they would worship Him and receive rest. The only course they could take was through the Valley of Tears; one full of difficulties and suffering.
In order to survive, they would drink from strategically dug wells or dig small pits to catch rain water needed to sustain their lives. Another option would be to dig trenches, from a main source, that would channel water toward them. It was the life-giving water that would help them to reach the next stop along the way until they reached their final destination where they would see God Face-to-Face.
It was in these Scriptures that God told me, “Beloved, you are not moving from weakness to weakness. You are moving from strength to strength”. (click to tweet)
When we struggle, God’s heart breaks over us. He flows toward us – filling up our pits and trenches with His Word and presence. The Provider gives us rest, dwells among us, becomes our refuge, calms our fears, imparts His strength, protects, comforts, fills our stomachs and feeds our souls. In the lowest places, Jesus binds our wounds and sets us high above the nations of the earth. (click to tweet) He hides us in the shadow of His wing.
The Lover of your soul soaks the ground beneath and sends dew from heaven above.
He is the Living Word that says, “I am with you and I will never leave you.”
Beautiful sparrow, thoughts that are rooted in the world leave us feeling hopeless and without purpose but when we set our hearts on pilgrimage, toward the day we will be with God forever, we are blessed!
Even though some of us might arrive to the throne worn and bruised, Jesus promises that not one of us – Will. Be. Lost! (click here to tweet) And the woman who gives up everything? Well, she ends up with everything and more. (Click here to tweet)
I pray you Live Like You Know …where you are going.
Strength to strength,
