When you struggle, the Lord goes ahead of you in secret and coordinates your future testimony – the emptying of yourself, because of His faithfulness.
In John 7, Jesus’ brothers were preparing to go to the Feast of Tabernacles and they urged Him to go, perform miracles and prove Himself to be Who He said He was.
Jesus’ brothers said to him, “Leave Galilee and go to Judea, so that your disciples there may see the works you do. No one who wants to become a public figure acts in secret. Since you are doing these things, show yourself to the world.”
I believe it was a taunt as the very next verse states, “For even his own brothers did not believe in him.”
My faith has been taunted by others who question God’s goodness in my struggles. I’m sad to say, I’ve challenged Him, too – when life seems unfair and messy for this girl whose heart (though far from perfect) Loves God with all she can.
With doubt and unbelieving flesh I can easily say, “Prove Who You are!” I am a repeat of these men who personally witnessed the miracles of the Lord.
The Lord sent His brothers onto the Feast saying His time had not yet come. He went Himself, after they had left, but He did not go publicly – He went in Secret. The Lord’s proof is always about timing. It’s in perfect timing that He shows the Truth of Who He is so others will know that what is shared, is not from ourselves, but from the One Who sent us.
When you struggle, know that God will prove Himself to you and others. Know that He is going ahead of you in secret; preparing a place of witness in the miracles He’s done. The Lord is actively coordinating your future testimony – the proving of Who He is, with perfect timing, so you too can say, “My teaching is not my own. It comes from him who sent me.” (John 7:16)
Lord, I believe You are going ahead of what I am struggling with and in Your perfect timing I will be able to share proof of Your miracles so others will know my teaching is not my own, but from You Who sent me.
I pray you Live Like You Know …where you are going.
Strength to strength,
